Grid Review Inquiry Batch (RIB) response codes and files

Whether you submit inquiries through the Grid web interface or through the Moody's secure file transfer channel (SFTP), you have the option of receiving your match alerts and results within an XML or a pipe delimited response file.

RIB response codes

These inquiry status codes may be included in RIB response files. This list also includes status response codes for firms that subscribe to the Grid Analyst Review and/or Client Alert Decisioning services.

Inquiry status code

Description

AL

Alerted

Indicates potential matches during screening and a Moody's Analyst confirms the matches and alerts them.

The final RIB response file contains alert details.

NM

No Match

Indicates no potential matches were found during screening.

MR

Manual Review

Indicates potential matches were found during screening and those matches are currently under first level review with a Moody's Analyst.

If no MR records are generated, then the initial response file is not sent. The final RIB response file is returned instead.

DR

Decisioning Review

Indicates potential matches were found during screening, the Moody's Analyst confirms the potential matches, and the matches are presently under review with a firm's compliance team, via Client Alert Decisioning.

DA

Decisioned Alert

Indicates potential matches were found during screening, the Moody's Analyst confirms the potential matches, and the firm's compliance team completes the review and alerts the matches using Client Alert Decisioning.

The final RIB response file contains alert details.

DN

Decisioned Not Alerted

Indicates potential matches were found during screening, the Moody's Analyst confirms the potential matches, and the firm's compliance team determines the results are No Matches.

No alerts are produced for this inquiry.

DI

Decisioned Ignored

Indicates potential matches were found during screening and matched by a Moody's Analyst.

Matches were then reviewed by the firm's compliance team, via Client Alert Decisioning and ignored.

No alerts are produced for this inquiry.

LD

Loaded

Indicates that no initial screening was conducted because the ACTION_TYPE in the input file prompted RIB processes to load the name into the portfolio and bypass the initial screening.

This status is used to load records for portfolio monitoring, where an initial review is not required.

NR

No Review

Indicates one or more entities match the inquiry and Analyst Review is not required.

The final RIB response file contains alert details.

Note

Status codes that reference Analyst Review or Client Alert Decisioning are only returned for firms who subscribe to those Moody's services.

RIB response files

There are four types of response files that can be returned using this integration method.

Response file types

Description

Initial response

Generated immediately after initial processing and search is completed. If there are no matches for any of the records, this file is not generated, and the system skips directly to final response processing. The final RIB response file is returned instead.

In the initial response, all inquiry information comes back with the addition of a REVIEW_STATUS. All inquiries are sent back with a disposition of NM, MR, DR, or LD.

Alert decisioning response

Contains the in-progress disposition on each inquiry and can have a status of NM or DR.

Final response

Generated after the review of any matches by Grid. In the final response, all inquiry information is returned with the addition of a REVIEW_STATUS and details for alerts.

Contains the final disposition on each inquiry and can have a status of NM, DA, DN, DI, or LD. If an inquiry has a status of DA, additional alert information is sent with the inquiry.

Error response

Generated only when an error occurs during input file pre-processing. When an error is identified within the input file, the entire input file is rejected. The error response contains the reasons for the failed file.
