Grid Analyst Review reason codes
The following reason codes may be applied to a person or organization entity's match results.
Person reason codes
The following reason codes may be returned with results.
Reason code | Description |

Cannot rule out
| Through research, you can't disprove the Grid record is not a match to the inquiry based on guidelines or information provided in the inquiry. |
Definite match
| You can confirm 100% that the Grid record is the inquiry submitted. |
Probable match
| The Grid record is more than likely the inquiry submitted. For example, the name and address match, but the date of birth cannot be confirmed. |
No Match reason codes for person entities
The following reason codes may be returned with results.
Reason code | Description |

Geography
| The Grid record compared to the inquiry is outside the mileage radius set forth in the guidelines. |
Date of birth
| When dates of birth do not match based on, for example, firm guidelines or research. |
Deceased
| When the entity is currently deceased and the analyst guidelines state not to alert on a deceased individual. Entities deceased 7+ years ago are also marked as no match unless otherwise indicated in the instructions. We alert as deceased unless stated otherwise in firm instructions. |
Incarcerated
| When the entity is currently in prison and the analyst guidelines state not to alert for individuals who are currently in jail. We alert as incarcerated unless stated otherwise in firm instructions. |
Risk code specific
| When the event code in the Grid record does not meet the criteria in firm guidelines. For example, do not alert on murder if not for financial gain. |
Immaterial to client
| When the Grid record is clearly not material to the client through a profile mismatch, for example, a high profile individual versus a shoplifter, clearly different images, or another immaterial reason found through inquiry information or research. |
Name mismatch
| When there is a middle name or regional name mismatch. We alert on diminutives, nicknames, and spelling differences. |
Gender
| When the Grid record is clearly a different gender to the inquiry. |
Fine
| When the fine limit mentioned in the Grid article does not meet the criteria of firm guidelines. |
Duplicate
| When there are two or more identical Grid records, one should be alerted if a match, and the others should be marked as no match with the reason code |
No risk relevance
| The Grid entity provides no negative news, or the news is older than 90 days for portfolio monitoring. |
Organization reason codes
The following reason codes may be returned with results.

No match reason codes for organization entities
The following table lists possible no match codes for organizations.
Reason code | Description |
|---|---|
Company not related
| When the Grid company is a mismatch to the inquiry based on the name, for example, Rose Corp compared to Black Rose Advisors, and no relationship is found. |
No risk relevance
| The Grid entity provides no negative news, or the news is older than 90 days for portfolio monitoring. |
Risk code specific
| When the event code in the Grid record does not meet the criteria in firm guidelines. For example, alert on the exact subsidiary only. |
Location
| The company in the Grid record is different from the company in the inquiry based on its location, when this is applicable based on firm instructions. |
Fine
| When the fine limit mentioned in the Grid article does not meet the criteria of firm guidelines. |
Whitelist
| When the Grid record appears on a firm's whitelist for match results that do not require alerts. |
Duplicate
| When there are two or more identical Grid records, one should be alerted if a match, and the others should be marked as no match with the reason code |
