Entity date match criteria in Grid Search tool
If an Entity Date search parameter is defined in the Grid Search tool, only name matches that align with your selection are displayed. This feature does not expand the number of years you go back in the archive; it only narrows them.
During processing, the CVIP and data filters on the account are applied first, then the on-screen filters afterwards.

Using the first row in this table as a reference, if a theft event is selected, your account settings allow the search to go back up to 5 years. If you set the entity date in the interface to 10 years, your search still looks back 5 years.
With the same account settings, if you set the entity date in the interface for 3 years, as in row two, it narrows the results to only include events with dates in the past 3 years.
