Sanctions360 data sources

Sanctions360 combines sanctions data from the Moody's Grid database with entity ownership data from Moody's Orbis, Moody's' market-leading database for company information, and applies 50% ownership rules to determine ownership by sanctioned entities and individuals under US, EU, and UK jurisdictions. Orbis is also the data source used to identify ownership of entities within the EU and outside the EU that contain a Russian nexus.

Moody's Grid sanctions data is collected from public web sources that are either systemically scraped or manually aggregated from global government regulators or law enforcement authorities in more than fifty jurisdictions. However, there isn't a published list of companies owned 50% or more by entities on the US, EU, or UK sanctions lists, also known as sanctioned by extension, that is publicly available. It is this information gap that Sanctions360 helps fill to enable companies to meet compliance requirements.
