A task is passing automatically when a check fails or returns an error

When a task is configured, it can be assigned one or more Acceptance checks.

When the task is on a profile's product application, it's automatically marked as Passed as soon as one Acceptance check passes.

If a task that's passed automatically because of an Acceptance check later becomes incomplete, it will always pass again automatically whenever a check is run on it.

This is because the pass from the initial check is still valid.

Acceptance checks are tied to task versions. If the task gets a new version, an Acceptance check must pass on that version for the version to pass automatically.
If you have Read-only access for the Smart policies permission, you can see if a task has any Acceptance checks by going to Policy Builder > Tasks and selecting the task.
To learn what causes a task to pass, see the configuration article for your data provider.
